You can be a hero. It’s true.
When learners come to the Nashville Adult Literacy Council (NALC) to improve their literacy skills, they’re turning a page to a new chapter in their lives. They’re following the same path as every great story’s hero – leaving behind what’s familiar, bravely facing challenges, and crossing a threshold into a new world.
There are trials along the way. They try and “fail” and try again. With the mentorship of NALC’s dedicated staff and volunteers, they gain confidence, build literacy skills, and grow into new versions of themselves. Like every great hero, they leave transformed, ready to start another chapter with new possibilities.
But even heroes need a hero. You are the guide who believes in them, the steady hand that helps them keep turning the page in their “hero’s journey.”
